Charity Website Browser Stats for July 2012
Here's the July stats for our basket of UK charity websites.
As usual these stats are for UK based charities covering a range of areas but mostly involved in campaigning and education. I have added a few more sites since last month if you're keeping a close eye on things, but I promise not to fiddle with them from now on.
IE continues to dominate as you'd expect with nearly 40% of the visits.
There's still a large proportion of IE8 users but they're definitely on the decline. Since Microsoft have now introduced automatic updates for Internet Explorer then we're hoping that the share of IE8 is going to decrease pretty rapidly. Certainly there's a case that any development starting now can use HTML5 and CSS3.
The other interesting fact is that mobile now makes up 14% of all visits. Obviously not a huge proportion yet, but definitely an area that's rising very quickly and something you need to be aware of.
The various versions of IE break down as.
|Internet Explorer 10||0.1%|
|Internet Explorer 9||42.8%|
|Internet Explorer 8||44.6%|
|Internet Explorer 7||10.6%|
|Internet Explorer 6||2.0%|
As usual if you're interested in stats for even more specific sectors or need some advice about your analytics then get in touch and we'll see how we can help.
